If you have young children in the home it may be a good idea to consider installing cushion flooring to provide a safe, clean and comfortable surface where they can play.  For many years thick carpets have been used for this purpose.  However, carpets easily get soiled from stains and spills.  Carpets are also prone to wear and tear.  These days, more and more parents are choosing cushioned flooring for their homes.

There are hundreds of choices in vinyl cushion flooring.  Cushion vinyl flooring comes in all colors and patterns to suit every taste.  Brightly colored flooring made of vinyl can provide the padding and protection every parent wants in children’s play areas.  It is also ideal in the kitchen so you can cook and work in greater comfort.  Plus it is easy to clean, and new innovations include anti bacteria, anti slip, and power-back features.

commercial cushion flooringIn the Commercial Sector

Cushioned floors or anti fatigue flooring can enhance the working conditions in a commercial setting.  Medical practitioners and workers who spend long hours standing or walking can benefit from cushion flooring.  Doctors and nurses, workers in assembly line, cooks, and cafeteria workers often experience stress on the feet, backs, and joints.  The stress comes from standing every day for long periods of time.  If workers can stand on cushioned flooring, this will help lessen the stress on their bodies and they can work more comfortably.  They will also be able to do their job better.  In addition, this type of flooring can help reduce injuries due to slips and falls.

In the commercial sector, the thickness and type of cushioned flooring will vary depending on the setting.  Industrial settings require maximum cushioning and ergonomic protection.  In retail settings, cushioning requirements may be lighter.
The most common materials for cushion flooring in the commercial sector include slip-resistant floor mats, linoleum, and carpeting.  Floor mats that are cushioned are popular in children’s play centers, recreation areas, aerobic studios, and exercise rooms.
This type of flooring in the commercial sector contributes to the comfort and safety of employees and customers.

    cleaning cushion flooringMaintenance

Care and maintenance of cushion flooring depends on amount and type of usage.  Oftentimes, all you have to do is sweep or vacuum regularly, followed by a wipe with a damp cloth. The flooring is usually stain resistant but it is best to wipe up stains and spills as quickly as possible.  Keep in mind that cushioned flooring can become damaged by sharp, hot or burning objects.  Avoid dragging heavy furniture or appliances across the floor.  Grit can also cause minute abrasions that will mar the beauty of your flooring, so be sure to vacuum regularly.

    Advantages

This type of flooring offers many benefits that you cannot have with other types of flooring.  Cushion flooring is durable, practical, stylish, easy to maintain, and hygienic.  You can also have your choice of beautiful colors, designs, textures and finishes.  Many manufacturers now offer fashionable cushion flooring in a variety of finishes including wood, stone and marble.  You can mix and match colors and add borders.  Best of all, these floors are affordably priced.

There is a wide range of colors, designs and performance options.  You can choose the type that suits your needs and budget.  Just remember that the more expensive type of cushioned flooring is generally more durable and longer lasting.  With so many choices available, you will surely find the cushion flooring that is perfect for your home.

  • Organic Benefits of Cheap Lino Flooring

Builders and decorators are always on the hunt for unique but cheap lino flooring. Linoleum has been a flooring favorite because of its flexibility and durability. It is made of linseed oil that is solidified with other organic materials and laid out on a canvas or burlap backing.

Frederick Walton was first to discover linoleum and established his linoleum company in 1864. Due to its organic components, cheap lino flooring has been an excellent and favorable material until the early twentieth century.

Linoleum is commonly used in hallways or heavy traffic areas because of its bounce-like property allowing less strain in walking. It is water-resistant which makes it easy to maintain, especially in the kitchen area. Unlike vinyl flooring, linoleum’s color pigments are mixed into the material, allowing the color to remain for a long time. It is also not easily scratched or scraped, making it last for almost decades.

Material designs like marble, wood, or granite has been integrated on cheap lino flooring. The necessary pigments are included in the manufacturing process and proved successful in imitating the genuine depicted material.

Linoleum comes in sheets that can be cut to preferred sizes. It is also available in different gauges or thickness depending on the location of installation. Installing linoleum is easy and can be done with the proper tools and materials. Make sure that the adhesive is spread evenly on the cleaned surface and the flooring would provide good service before needing any replacements.

Vinyl has currently replaced cheap lino flooring in most building constructions. Synthetic material still remains cheaper than the organic linoleum. If not for vinyl’s health hazards when not properly disposed, it may have defeated linoleum in most flooring aspects. Linoleum is still preferred by certain establishments, mostly hospitals, because of its hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial properties.
